María Molina Peiró is a Spanish artist, filmmaker, and researcher based between Amsterdam and Madrid. Her films have been presented at major international festivals including IFFR Rotterdam (Tiger Competition), CPH:DOX, BFI London Film Festival, Oberhausen, BELDOCS, Taiwan International Documentary Film Festival (TIDF), IndieLisboa, Seville European Film Festival and Málaga Film Festival, among many others. Her art installations have also been exhibited at numerous art institutions including the National Gallery of Art in Washington, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) in Seoul, the Louvre Museum in Paris, EYE Filmmuseum in Amsterdam, MACBA in Barcelona and the National Gallery of Art in Vilnius. Her work has received numerous awards, including the Silver Biznaga for Best Direction at Málaga Film Festival, Best Film at Olhar de Cinema, the La Casa Encendida Audiovisual Award, the Radar Award at Curtocircuito and the Grand Jury Prize at Videoformes.

She holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Seville, an MFA in Computer Arts (Animation) from the School of Visual Arts in New York, and graduated cum laude from the MA Artistic Research through Cinema at the Netherlands Film Academy, where she received the Amsterdam University of the Arts Award for Best Master’s Project.

Beyond her practice, she has been invited to teach, give masterclasses, and mentor projects at universities and art institutions, including the Netherlands Film Academy, Leiden University, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Alfonso X el Sabio University, KASK School of Arts and Sound Image Culture. She has also curated film programmes for Instituto Cervantes in the Netherlands.

Her films are distributed and part of art film collections such as EYE Film Museum, LI-MA Collection, HAMACA, Gargantua Films or Cinesud.
